Christmas Message 2021 from Pastor

Dear CFTN Family,

Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.  And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Baby wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly host praising God saying: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” (Luke 2:10-14)

Every Christmas season, I can only remember with a thankful heart the great love God manifested in Bethelehem for us.  As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, let us praise Him!

At this time, we get busy shopping for gifts, decorating our homes and doing chores for the festive celebrations, or traveling near and far to be with loved ones - Let’s be sure to make Jesus the center of Christmas!  Jesus came in this world for the salvation and redemption of mankind so that everyone may have eternal life. This is the greatest gift one can receive.

This year as a church family, some of our brethren left us to return home to the Lord, some experienced physical illness, while others went through financial and emotional hardship, and other difficulties.  There may have been times that you felt so alone and that your prayers went unanswered.  Through it all, God is faithful. He is an Almighty God!

We have witnessed strong testimonies throughout the year by some members of how God has restored their health, strengthened their marriages and families, opened doors in their education and work, brought solutions to their problems, and provided opportunities to serve Him more richly in His vineyard. All glory to God! Let’s continue to pray for God’s protection and healing over people affected by the Covid-19 virus. Let’s pray for families, frontline and community workers, government leaders, educators, colleagues, friends and so many people reaching out for help. Let’s pray that they will get the attention and resources they need.

I want to say a special word of thanks to you and for your love for Him in the body of Christ. Your labour is not in vain and the reward is with Him.  May He fill our hearts with more of His love and bind us together. It is a great privilege and a great joy to serve God as your Pastor. This responsibility has been easy because of your faithfulness, love and prayers. As we celebrate Christmas, let’s pray for the Avanchets community, all of Geneva and the world that they too will come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

For all those who are going on holiday to celebrate Christmas with your family, May the Lord’s presence and protection go with you. Enjoy your family and friends, and may the Lord bring you back safely.

Together with the CFTN Council, I pray that each of you and your family will continue to be blessed.

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!
